New Terminology For Online Marketers

Click here to get your own player.

CYBERCASTING
If you are going to be on the radio get a video of it. This extends the life of your media. Because from there you can digitize that footage and throw it up on the web. Now you are on video and the radio simultaneously and people can match a name to a face. Better yet, you become familiar to the public. It is for this reason of combining the Internet along with Radio that I coined the term.... Cybercasting. Now your media has a life of its own.
MICROSIZING
In the early days of all of this I inquired help from several television recording studios for editing video. Little did I know then that these guys were going to charge me an arm and a leg for what I could do in about an hour. Seriously. So I took the best effects from digital video and editing houses and brought everything inhouse to a desktop level. I cut out all the expense, fluff and political numbness out of the experience from having to go into a studio to get something done. It is for this reason I coined this phrase.

THE BOUNCE UP
This is what happens if you follow our SEO, Internet Marketing, and online strategies. When you combine our methods of podcasting, blogging, RSS, web video and SEO something wonderful happens. Unlike typical SEO firms and PPC situations you will lose your rankings, (and money) within due time. But thanks to our tools WORKING TOGETHER you will experience a phenomenon called THE BOUNCE UP. Your site is transformed into this life saving life raft. You will actually go UP the search engines and most likely stay there. While other sites struggle to stay on top yours will actually do the opposite and bob up and down near the very top TEN.

Its getting more engaging out there these days. More and more companies are throwing their hands up in utter confusion. The online marketing game is getting more confusing and more precise at the same time. To make matters more dramatic there seems to be a real lack of honest SEO's. Stay tuned......

Who Else Is Obsessed With Mobile Marketing?

I have been going through my desk notes and blog postings from the last month. Up until very recently there are more posts about mobile marketing in Technorati. Its about time that this country has caught up with the insightful craze.

But how could they not? Avoiding the topic of Mobile Marketing is nearly impossible with the arrival of the new IPHONE. Its nice to see this topic get some attention.

The UK had written much about it in its trade journals and industry magazines. Most of these can be purchased at Borders and Barnes and Nobles. They had predicted a rise in the new technology.

True, only 10% of online ads get clicked on but who cares? I mean, we are lucky to get a 5% or more response in direct mail right? The fact that anyone is taking this medium seriously is uplifting. Then of course there is the total DIGITAL WEB VIDEO aspect to this entire thing. This means that if you have the guts and some imagination you can create your very own informercial of sorts.

THE REAL PROBLEM WITH BUYING AIRTIME
Getting your infomercial produced can be rough. You have to get the commercial shot and edited then you have to get it into the right market. All of this takes effort, expense and a whole lotta sweat. Even then there is a very good chance that you can flop. In fact according to Gunthy and Renker there are a lot of informercials that barely see the light of day before they are canned.

The success rate for informercials is very small.

So why not go digital and get it out there?

* Your production costs go WAY DOWN
* Your editing costs are minimilized

* You can get into tight niche markets
* You have full creative control
* You can control who accesses this material

As if thats not enough here is what we found on the DM News, (direct marketing news blog)

Here is a interesting point of view from Omar Tawakol, Chief Advertising Officer, Medio Systems on a new survey conducted by Harris Interactive saying that 70 percent of respondents deleted mobile ads, and only about 10% took some type of positive action in response.

“Interestingly, sponsored text links got the most favorable response: ‘A sponsored link that as appears as the result of an Internet search I did on my mobile phone’ got the highest positive response with more than 25 percent of those polled saying this kind of advertising was acceptable. No surprise here. Look at the online world. Ads tied to search queries are considered part of content and generate click-through rates as high as +20 percent because an ad that returns highly relevant ads as part of an answer to a question, is perceived by consumers as a service. With mobile adverting, relevance is key.

Mobile marketing has already seen the light of day in Australia and in England. There have been some early adapters in major cities with an entertainment search engine. But there has been NOTHING like the kind of changes we are now facing in this complex media environment. Its exciting and encouraging.

Sales Copy - or Technical Writing - Which One Are You Using?

"They Lumbered Onto The Platform and Into The Train Like Sad Clowns on a Laughless Day"

I saw these technocrats --- e-wizards -- you know what I mean. Worker drones. In other words I saw these guys in suits who are still bowing on their knees every thankfully for the arrival of Windows 95 come onto the train. They are the.... er um.... WORD SMITHS.

It was at this point when I realized how much I didn't miss working in the Corporate American mainstream. And before I get you all worked up let me explain the reason why i don't miss those days......

Technical Writing vs Copywriting
There is no fine line when it comes to these two styles of writing. In fact, there is NO comparison because they are so radically different. That should bring a sigh of relief to some of you.....

Word smithing is an inside tired term from the world of imprisonment... I mean... the 80 hour work week in cubicleland. It is a lot of rehashed gibberish and takes forever to get to the point. While copywriting on the other hand is a fresher approach.

In boxing terms..... Technical Writing is the dancing around, (fencing if you will) while sales copywriting goes straight for the gut..... with an additional UPPERCUT.

Here are some additional recent thoughts on the topic:
You need to use sentences that carry action in them. As far as web sites go, pictures and prices aren't enough to cut it in the online world. You need some type of strong prose to carry your messages across. You need OUTGOING SALES COPY.

Your marketing is too important to leave in the hands of your secretary or some hired hack. In most cases you need to jump in and take the bull by the horns yourself even if your a novice. Having a lot of heart can go a long way.

Source: http://seo-stamford.blogspot.com

Technical writing headine:
"SEO Strategies Prove Effective In Recent Online Tests"

Copywriting style:
“If You Ever Dreamed Of Beating Your Competition’s Web Site Rankings – Get More Customers, And Dominate Google – This IS FOR YOU !!”

Technical writing headline:
"Our New Formulas Boost Response"

Copywriting style:
“Here’s How You Generate An Extra $267,000.14 To Your Company Without Adding On New Staff!”

I'd rather get to the point than dance around my intended target. Which would you rather do?
